The service for James and Joe Pratt is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Piedmont Church, 570 Piedmont Rd., Marietta.
James Pratt, 18, was a senior at Lassiter High School. Joe Pratt, 14, was a freshman at the school. The brothers were in the school's ROTC program.

Absolutely stunning. I am so sorry and my prayers have been sent many times over for these two fantastic young men and to the family. I feel so sad for Lily, Stella and Mom. I did not have Joseph in class but I knew him through my experiences with his three siblings. James and Lily are my kids [Stella and Joseph as well but not through class but relationship to Lily and James] . James was one the best I have ever had the privilege of teaching as well as learning from. Heaven has gotten brighter, more intelligent and blessed with these two young men arriving.

I have 3 sons, near your sons' ages. I know the daily worry that "something might happen" to them--esp. when they're first flying from the nest...but cannot imagine the devastation I'd feel if something actually "were" to happen. The only thing I can share that may help is something Dr. Peter Marshall once said: "Those we love are with the Lord, we believe; and Jesus promised He would always be with us: 'I will never leave you nor forsake you'. Well--if they are with Him, and He is with us---they cannot be very far away."
May His everlasting arms which are underneath you carry you and support you through this time.

Dear Mr Pratt, Mrs Pratt, and daughters,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this very sad time. I can't imagine your pain. My daughter and I were one of the ones who drove by the accident. On my way back from taking her to a class I looked up and saw an amazing cloud with the sun rays beaming through it from heaven, as if your boys were smiling. I know that after a staggering loss it is a shock to see everyone else in the world going about their business like nothing ever happened. But please know that the community is grieving with you. I don't know your family, but as a Lassiter parent myself I have shed tears over the loss of your precious sons. I know there aren't words that can ease the pain. As a mother whose 16 year old son died on a snowy road alone, my heart is truly heavy for your double loss. Please know that you are not alone. People won't know what to say or do. Do whatever you need to do / which for now might be just to breathe.
