James Argo Obituary
Family-Placed Death Notice
JAMES L. ARGO, SR. Mr. James L. Argo, Sr., age 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2006, after an extended illness. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the 337th Infantry, as well as a Master Mason of the Calera, Alabama Masonic Lodge #445. Mr. Argo was an active member of Peachtree Baptist Church since 1956, and a deacon for many years. He was a retired V.P. from Farrens Tree Surgeons with 47 years of service. He was preceded in death by his son, James L. Argo, Jr., Orlando, FL; and brother, Joseph Argo, Calera, AL. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Imogene C. Argo; daughters and sons-in-law, Maurine & Bud Mullinax, Tucker, GA, Dianne & Bob Trippe, Clearwater, FL; and daughter-in-law, Lois W. Argo, Orlando, FL. Other survivors include four sisters, and a brother in Alabama; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. In addition to immediate family members, Mr. Argo was loved by his wife's family and many friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 8th at 3:00 p.m. with visitation at 1:00 p.m. at A. S. Turner & Sons with Ms. LeAnn Gunter, Associate Pastor and Dr. Robert Walker, Senior Pastor, Peachtree Baptist Church officiating. Interment Floral Hills Memory Gardens. A. S. Turner & Sons

I was so sorry to hear about Pop. No words can begin to share all the fond memories I have of Pop and the Argo family. Shooting pool, eating homemade soup, going to Ala. with you , but most of all just being at your house. When my mom and dad both passed away, the Argo's were right there when I needed them. After Mac and I were married, Pop was a special person in his life. I have been out of contact for so many years. Mac passed away in 2002. I'm in San Antonio, Tx. now and my friend in Atl. sent me Pop's obituary. Again, my love and prayers are with you at this time.

We will always remember the Easter Egg hunts at Maw-Maw's (Irene)house in Hammond. We all wanted the POP egg! We are so happy that we got to see you guys last November. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

We are terribly saddened at Pop's passing. He was one of the finest men we've ever had the privilege of knowing. He will surely be missed by all who knew him.
He was more than just a friend, more like the dad I did not have growing up.
