James W. JACKSON Obituary
JACKSON, James W. Mr. James W. Jackson, age 83, of Newnan passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016. He was the son of the late James Baker and Hester Pearl Jackson. James was the foundation of his family. He set examples that show in the lives of his daughters, granddaughters and great granddaughter. He loved unconditionally, had an incredible work ethic, and was honest and trustworthy. He was looked up to by his family and his employers. James worked for E & L Transport in Lorain, Ohio, Motor Convoy in Hapeville, Georgia and Nabisco Brands in Atlanta, Georgia. After his retirement from Nabisco in 1992, he worked for Arbor Springs Golf Course in Newnan, Georgia. So important in his life was his service to his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1955. He made many friends in the places he worked and was a respected leader to his co-workers. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Katherine Jackson; daughters, Sherry Johnson and her husband Mike, Judy Gaddy and her husband, Dennis; grandchildren, Nicki Gosdin, Megan Hendrick and her husband, Corey; great granddaughter, Amelia Hendrick. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society, P.O. Box 785, Newnan GA 30264. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home & Crematory, 770-964-4800. A memorial service will be held in McKenzie, TN at a later date.
