BASS, Laurie Scott LAURIE SCOTT BASS Laurie Scott Bass, 54, passed away Sunday, December 26 at Hospice Atlanta. Laurie loved her native Atlanta. She graduated from Druid Hills High School and Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, VA. After college, she married Travis Bass, and had the pleasant opportunities to live in Atlanta, Altavista, VA, Summerville, SC, Burlington, NC and finally Roswell, GA where she has resided since 1997. Laurie was an avid and devoted gardener, and loved reading and knitting. She loved people, and anything having to do with the outdoors, most of all her garden and wild birds. She spent the last 10 years as the quintessential volunteer, spending time at The Atlanta Botanical Garden, Creative Therapy and Dream Power hippotherapy programs, Habitat for Humanity and mission trips to Brazil and with youth groups through her beloved church. Laurie created beauty and made friends wherever she went. Laurie was the daughter of Dr. Thomas P. Scott, Jr., and the late Jane Seward Scott of Atlanta. In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by her son Ed, his wife Lauren, and their children Edie, Scott and Travis, all of Roswell, and her daughter Liz Spain, her husband David, and their child Will, of Raleigh, NC. Laurie is also survived by her brothers Tom Scott, his wife Lalla and daughter Sasha, of McLean, VA, and David Scott, his wife Tracie and children Margaret, Will and Patrick, of Stone Mountain, GA. A memorial service and reception are scheduled for Laurie at 2 PM Thursday afternoon, December 30 at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 2400 Old Alabama Road, Roswell. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice. The family suggests donations to The , Hospice Atlanta or The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation.
