Family-Placed Death Notice

BEDOYA, Oskar Alberto Alvarez Oskar Alberto Alvarez Bedoya, native of Medellin, Colombia, son of Carlos Alberto Alvarez and Maria Isabellina Bedoya, died May 14, 2012. Oskar, poet, Polytechnic Univ. Bookstore manager, Third Order of Alliance of the Two Hearts, as artist, created the mosaics of the main altar and shrines at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Mableton, Ga. His love and support of his immediate and extended families contributed to greater understanding and cooperation within the entire community, with especial help in fostering love and appreciation of the traditional Catholic Faith and Latin language prayers and chants. Oskar is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cathrine; son Stefan Andres; mother-in-law, Bertha Cumming; brothers, Gustavo, Guillermo Alvarez, sisters, Patricia Hemingway and Marta, Angela Alvarez; niece Christina Alvarez, all the associates of the Apostolate of the Alliance of the Two Hearts and the local community. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 19, 2012 at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 675 Riverside Rd., Roswell, GA. Interment will follow in Honey Creek Woodlands Burial Grounds, Conyers, GA. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM at SouthCare Cremation & Funeral Society, 2260 Old Milton Pkwy., Alpharetta, GA. A rosary will begin at 7:15PM on Friday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Center for Peace, 921 Long Rd., Glenview, IL 60025 or Alliance of the Two Hearts, P.O. Box 1719, Dover, DE 19903.
