MALEY, Richard RICHARD J. "DICK" MALEY Richard J. "Dick" Maley, 74, of Conyers, passed away Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011. He left this world while at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on March 19, 1936, in Johnstown, Pa., the older son of Richard and Bernadette Maley. Dick served in the Navy, attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh. He began his career with the federal government as an Investigator for the United States Civil Service Commission. He was the youngest Investigator to be named a Section Chief. He later served the United States Office of Personnel Management as the Appeals Program Manager, a position usually held by attorneys. Subsequently, he became administrative director of the Southeast Region of the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission. During his career he worked in Washington, D.C., Anchorage, Alaska, Macon, Ga., and Atlanta, Ga. He retired in 1994. Dick was an avid golfer and a voracious reader. He was preceded in death by two wives, Aileen Wright Maley and Linda Rustin Maley. His memory will be treasured by his wife, Donna Johnson Maley; his sons and daughters-in-law Mike and Stephanie Maley of Toccoa, Ga., Dan and Amy Maley of Macon, Ga., Tim and Wendy Maley of Johns Creek, Ga., and Ben and Andrea Maley of Monroe, Ga.; his brother and sister-in-law Mike and Carol Maley of Bremerton, Wash.; and nine grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 26, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Conyers First United Methodist Church. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org), The (www.cancer.org) and the (www.heart.org). Horis A.
