Family-Placed Death Notice
ADAMS, Thomas Thomas Ellis Adams Sr. March 11, 1936-October 6, 2008 Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 9, 2008 at the New Lebanon Presbyterian Church, 389 Bent Tree Drive, Jasper, GA for Thomas Ellis Adams 72, of the Bent Tree Community, Jasper, GA. Rev. Ben Laughlin and Dr. James O. Speed will officiate. Mr. Adams passed away after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer on October 6, 2008. He was born in Newberry, SC, but grew up in Orlando, Florida. Tom worked at Lockheed Martin for forty years as an engineer and manager. Tom graduated from the University of Florida, with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He later received a Master of Science degree in Engineering Mechanics from GA Tech. Survivors include his wife, Jane Anne Jones Adams, Jasper; daughters Susan Lynn Holland, Marietta, GA; Marjorie Lee MacBride, Mt. Prospect, IL; Anne Marie Adams, Roswell, GA; and son, Thomas Ellis Adams Jr, Savannah, GA; sisters Sandy Durrett, Murphy, NC and Margie Denner, Weeki Wachee, FL. There are eight grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to New Lebanon Presbyterian Church, 389 Bent Tree Drive, Jasper, GA 30143 or to MD Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, TX. 77210-4486. Please write "In memory of Thomas Ellis Adams" on the memo line. Cagle Funeral Home, Jasper, Ga. in charge of arrangements.
