Family-Placed Death Notice
SHORTT, Virginia Mrs. Virginia Shortt, age 83, died Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center of Savannah, Georgia. The Ware County native was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Vidalia and a member of the "Cleo Auld" Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Bera McDaniel of Waycross, GA, her husband, Lewis R. Shortt of Chamblee, GA. and one sister, Margie Adams. Survivors include, her two daughters, Ann Frances Latham of Eden, N.C., and Anna Lyn Pugh, of Vidalia, one sister, Nina Parrish, of Vidalia, four grandchildren and one great grandchild, five nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Mrs. Virginia Shortt were held at 10:00 a.m., August 29, 2008, at the Chapel of Murchison Funeral Home of Vidalia, Georgia with Rev. David Blalock and Rev. Henry Bass officiating. Interment followed at 4:30 p.m. at Oak Grove Congregational Christian Church Cemetery, Pine Mountain, Georgia. Family received friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 28, 2008, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Murchison Funeral Home of Vidalia, was in charge of the arrangements.
