Family-Placed Death Notice

Mrs. Willene Brasseale Broome, age 85, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2005. She was born October 24, 1919 in Carroll County, GA to the late Jim Brasseale and Lillia Boyd Brasseale. She was a homemaker and the loving wife of a United Methodist Minister, Rev. Ralph Henry Broome, who served in the North Georgia Conference for 45 years before passing away November 4, 1994. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Broome Young and four sisters. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy & Patricia Broome of Chattanooga, TN; three daughters, Myrna Lanier of Acworth, GA, Dianna Watkins and Susan Caudell, both of Cleveland, GA; two sisters, Gladys Atchley of Newnan and Mildred Thomason of Stone Mountain, GA; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, May 8, 2005 at 2 PM from Powell Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Seth Caudell, Rev. Robert Leadbetter and Rev. Richard Reid, officiating. Music will be rendered by Donna Lucas. Pallbearers will be Steven Broome, Ritchie Spivey, Mark Watkins, Jeff Lanier, Joe Lanier, Matt Caudell, Scott Partin, Mark London and Wade Collins. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Broome's body will lie in state at the church from 1:30 until the funeral hour. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, May 7, from 2 until 4 PM and from 6 until 8 PM. Martin & Hightower West Center Street Chapel of Carrollton has charge of the arrangements.
