Family-Placed Death Notice
BARNER, Theodore, Jr. Judge Theodore Edward Barner, Jr. Judge Theodore Edward Barner, Jr., age 82 of Roswell, died Friday, January 20, 2012 at North Fulton Hospital. Mr. Barner was a U.S. Army veteran who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Georgia. He went on to serve as a hospital administrator in several facilities in Georgia and South Carolina, and founded the Lila Doyle Nursing Center in Oconee County, South Carolina. Mr. Barner later obtained his Juris Doctorate and began practicing law in Roswell. He held numerous judgeships and retired from the Fulton County Magistrate Court. Judge Barner was also a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and member of the Yaarab Shrine. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Judith A. Stout-Barner; four sons, Glenn and Christy Barner, Paul and Corazon Barner, David and Marcie Barner, and John Barner; and sister-in-law, Nancy Stout Whitaker, who lives in Columbus, IN. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Birmingham United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell. The Barner family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 24 at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors, 12050 Crabapple Rd., Roswell, GA 30075. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be offered to Birmingham United Methodist Church, 15770 Birmingham Highway, Alpharetta, GA 30004.
