Family-Placed Death Notice

ALEXANDER, Karen Karen "Kay" C. Alexander died early Saturday morning, March 17, 2012, surrounded by loved ones at Tranquility Hospice in Austell. Born March 17,1939, in Cassville, Georgia, she was the youngest of thirteen children. Living the majority of her life in and around Smyrna, GA, she married Bill J. Alexander in 1961, and is survived by her four children: Joseph Alexander of Powder Springs, GA, Jana Haney of Powder Springs, GA, Christy Alexander of Powder Springs, GA, and Lisa Alexander of Decatur, GA; Two Sisters, Hallie Cagel of Cartersville, GA and Cleo Rhodes of Titusville, FL, nine grandchildren, John Alexander, William Alexander, Madeline Alexander, Anna Kathryn Haney, Allie Grace Haney, Justin Haney, Jacob Leonhardi, Colton Delong, and Morgan Delong, all of whom brought her great joy. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews. Kay was preceded in death by her husband, the late Bill Alexander. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Smyrna First Baptist Church Chapel with her nephew, Pastor David Blackney, officiating. The family will receive friends at a reception immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. Flowers will be accepted, or in lieu of flowers contributions can be made in her memory to Wellstar Tranquility Hospice, 4040 Hospital W Drive, Austell, GA, 30106.
