Family-Placed Death Notice

AKERS, Henry Henry "Hank" Akers, age 74 of Hapeville, GA passed away December 22, 2013. He served as a Deacon at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church for 20 years and was a member of the Legion of Mary. Hank is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Bobbie Akers. He is survived by his son, Brian Akers; daughters, Sandy Stevens, Kim Travis, Renee Willis, and Melinda Pabst; grandchildren, Kristi, Joey, Chris, Marla, Tiffany, Amanda, Michael, Jessica, Henry, Annemarie, Justin, Jimmy, Timmy, Ashley, Marne, Kimberly, Eric; and 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Crocket Akers. The visitation will be on Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Historical Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in East Point, GA with a Wake Service held at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 1:30pm at St. John the Evangelist. Remains will lie in state 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Entombment will be at Forest Hill Memorial Gardens in Forest Park, GA.
