COOLEY, Sr., F. Ray F. Ray Cooley, Sr., age 86, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday evening, February 11, 2014. He was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on July 25, 1927 to the late Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Cooley. After serving in the United States Navy, he met and married his wife of 63 years, Marjorie Linder. In 1957, Ray and Marjorie moved their family to Georgia, where they have resided for the past 57 years. He worked as a plasterer and drywall contractor (Cooley's Drywall, Inc.) for many years. After retiring, he enjoyed the challenges of furniture restoration as well as feeding and watching birds and wildlife in his backyard. Always fond of both cats and dogs, he especially valued the time spent with his beloved Golden Retrievers. Ray is survived by his wife, Marjorie Linder Cooley, his son, F. Ray Cooley, Jr., and his daughter, Ann Linder Cooley, all of Decatur. A memorial service will be held at a later date, at the A. S. Turner & Sons' Chapel in Decatur, GA.
