Obituary Condolences

DUGGAR, Dr. Gordon Gordon Eugene Duggar, D.P.M., age 83, of Flowery Branch passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 20, 2014 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Rev. Steve Fetkenhour will officiate. The family will receive friends 12:00 - 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home. Dr. Duggar was born March 25th, 1930. He graduated from Mercer obtaining his pharmacy degree in 1952. Always dedicated to furthering his education, he recognized a growing need in the field of Podiatry and with the support of his wife Vera, and their children, returned to college and became a Podiatric Surgeon. He built a successful private practice in Decatur before being asked to join the staff at the Atlanta Veterans Administration Hospital in 1986. There he developed a program for Podiatric residents changing the face of Podiatry not only at the VA but for Podiatry in hospitals around the country. He was a gifted surgeon, author, teacher, family man, brother, friend and charter member of New Hope Fellowship Church in Cedartown. He was a child of God and loved by all who knew him. Dr. Duggar was preceded in death by his parents Johnny and Inez Duggar, and brother Tom Duggar. Survivors include: wife of 64 years, Vera Peace Duggar of Flowery Branch; daughters, Kathy Ray of Atlanta; Patti (Karl) Lindsley of Johns Creek and Amie Black of Braselton; nephew, David (Jamie) Ehrman of Tucker; sisters, Mary Anne (Glen) Blackley, Barbara Cagle and Rebecca Campbell all of Cedartown; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
