Obituary Condolences

BOX, Mary Mary Brinson Box, Artist & Homemaker Mary Brinson Box of Roswell, GA, passed away on April 6, 2014. She was 92. Mary was born in Columbus, Georgia, the youngest child of Shepard and Myrtice Brinson. She had three brothers, Shepard Stephen Brinson, Carey Owen Brinson, and William Coart Brinson, all of whom preceded her in death. Mary was a founding member of the Gallery V art gallery in Roswell, GA and remained a member for over 30 years. In addition to her artwork Mary enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, working crossword puzzles and watching her beloved Braves' baseball games. Her husband Lt. Col. Virgil "Pete" Box preceded Mary in death. Together they and their children traveled the world, following Pete's career as an Army officer. They lived in a number of states as well as Japan, Germany and France before coming to Atlanta. They chose residences in the Lenox and Dunwoody communities before settling in Roswell in 1979. Survivors include her daughter and partner, Patricia Box (Debbie), her sons and daughters-in-law; Stephen Box (Judy); Carey Box (Delia); 4 grandsons, Michael (Alicia), Steven (Sue), Collin and Garrett; and five great-grandchildren. A private graveside service was held by the family at Green Lawn Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.roswellfuneralhome.com.
