Otto V. VARGA

1971 - 2014 | Obituary Condolences
VARGA, Otto V. With sad hearts, the family of Otto V. Varga announces his passing. He fell asleep at his home in Atlanta, GA, and left this world on April 4, 2014. He was preceded in death by his father, Otto Sandor Varga. Otto leaves behind his mother, Emma Eva, of North Aurora, IL, a sister, Kathleen, of North Aurora, his brother-in-law John, with whom he enjoyed debating the merits of one car over another, and two nieces, Alicia and Emese (Emma), who were always trying to make him eat his vegetables because they wanted him to be at their weddings. He also had two cats, Hayden and Blu, that brought him great joy and miss their "Dad". Otto was born in Park Ridge, IL, on April 29, 1971. He had worked for Delta Airlines for 20 years, and had lived in Atlanta, GA, for the past 15 years. He graduated from Northern Illinois University and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity. Otto loved to travel, and he saw the world. He also found a McDonald's in just about every destination he visited! Otto took great joy in comparing cheeseburgers from different countries! A gathering of friends was hosted by Otto's dear friend and fellow Delta employee, James Benson, in Atlanta, GA on Sunday, April 13, 2014. A memorial will be hosted by his family on Saturday, April 19, at 1 o'clock at Batavia United Methodist Church, 8 North Batavia Avenue, Batavia, IL 60510. Service will be at 1:30. Otto brought great joy to friends worldwide with his quick wit and fun sense of humor. He loved his family near and far, and kept in touch with his friends and family in Hungary. As those that knew Otto will attest, he loved animals, and his own cats were from a shelter. To honor Otto's memory, please donate to your local animal shelter. It would please Otto to know that, if nothing else, he was helping animals from beyond the grave. Online condolences may be made at hmpattersonspringhill.com.
