Obituary Condolences

SCIBONA, Gregory Gregory M. Scibona, 84, of Stone Mountain entered into eternal rest on April 19, 2014. Born in Denver, CO to the late Gregorio and Concettine Scibona on May 15, 1929. He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia, of 62 years, sons Paul Scibona (Patti) and John Sayre-Scibona (Beth), grandchildren Greg Scibona (Kelly), Jenny Ward (Matthew), Jessie Buckley (Ryan) and Megan Sayre-Scibona, great grandchildren Francesca and Gregory Scibona, Charlie and Elliott Ward. He is also survived by his sisters Carmela Brown, Josephine Ziska and Violet Effinger along with numerous nieces and nephews. A lifelong Catholic, Greg was dearly loved by his family and many friends of all ages for his generous, joyful heart and sense of humor. A friend said, "He was just plain special and anyone who knew him knew he was special." He was an active volunteer at the Gwinnett Community Clinic, enjoyed golf, woodworking and assisted in the making of the stained glass windows at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Garden Angels ministry and Hilltoppers. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, 5373 Wydella Road, Lilburn, GA on Saturday, April 26 at 11AM. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made in his name to the International Mosaic Down Syndrome Assn., P.O. Box 354, Trenton, OH 45067 or to St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church. Condolences may be viewed or sent to www.wagesfuneralhome.com. Tom M.
