Obituary Condolences

HENDERSON, George V. George V. Henderson, 64, of Atlanta passed away on May 29, 2014. He was born in Atlanta, the son of Sue Henderson. He received his BA in Music from the University of Georgia. Mr. Henderson taught band for 32 years in the Chattooga, Henry, Decatur, and Fulton school systems. He used his musical talents as an accomplished woodwind player in the Dekalb Wind Ensemble, Cobb Wind Symphony, Jonesboro United Methodist Church Orchestra, and St. Mark's Musical Ensemble. Mr. Henderson was an active volunteer for and board member of Samaritans Together for Clayton County and member of the Georgia Music Educators Association. He was an avid traveler and disc golfer. He is survived by cousins Dave and Shirley Byars, Brandy Witte, Buzz and Leigh Anne Hanie, Kent Hanie, Lydia Hanie, David & Cristina Webb and by lifelong friend and house partner Dennis Washack. Visitation will be held at 3p.m. and a memorial service at 4p.m. on Monday, June 2, 2014 at Jonesboro United Methodist Church.
