Obituary Condolences

ROBERTS, Frances Lambert Funeral and Celebration of Life for Mrs. Frances L. Roberts of Union City, Ga will be held on July 1st, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Minister Morris B. Norton will officiate. The burial will follow at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. Mrs. Roberts passed away peacefully at home June 25th, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Morris C. (Buck) Roberts and her daughter Miss Rebecca (Becky) Lambert Roberts. She is survived by her brother Mr. William T. Lambert and his wife Dorothy of Mechanicsburg, PA; sister-in-law Mrs. Lucile M. Lambert of Columbus GA; nephews Mr. C. Lamar Lambert and his wife Vicki of Atlanta, GA, Mr. Randall (Craig) Littlefield Jr. of Mobile, AL, Mr. William Lambert, Jr., Mr. Barry Lambert; great nephews Mr. Jeffery R. Brown and his wife Carla of Fayetteville, NC, Mr. Michael Lambert Cunningham; and great nieces Tiffany A. Lambert and Courtney Lambert Cunningham. In her 98 plus years she had such a wide ranging positive influence on her family and community that only the good Lord knows what this place would have been like without her. Her humor, wise ways, care for others, and loving smile will be missed. Frances was a graduate of Russell High School, Class of 1934, and was active in alumnae activities. She attended Cox College in College Park, GA. She was a long term employee of the National Bank of Georgia with 20 years of service as an administrative assistant and continued her friendship with her coworkers for the rest of her life. She was a member of the College Park Women's Club, Cross Roads Garden Club, First Christian Church of Marietta (Charter member), Community Christian Church (Disciples), Atlanta Women's Chamber of Commerce, Atlanta Business Women's Association, American Institute of Banking, Epsilon Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Chairman of Garden Division and Treasurer of College Park Women's Club, Jamestown Corporation, Volunteer Red Cross Auxiliary (former High View Nursing Home), Union City Senior Recreation Department. She was a granddaughter of Joseph Franklyn Lambert, one of the pioneer preachers of the Georgia Disciples of Christ Church. She has been a member of College Park Christian Church, Marietta Christian Church, Columbia Avenue Christian Church, and Community Christian Church in Tyrone, GA. She traveled extensively when the opportunity arose and continued to correspond with friends from those trips.
