WOODY, Dorothy Davis DOROTHY DAVIS WOODY Dorothy Davis Woody, born February 14, 1926 in Cutler, IL, passed away June 12, 2014 at the age of 88. Interment for family and close friends will be held Saturday, July 19, 2014, 11:30am at Crowell Brothers Funeral Home. Celebration of Life to follow at 1:00pm for family and friends at the home of Grace and Kim Baker in Suwanee, GA. Dorothy moved to Atlanta in 1956 with her husband, Donaldson Grier Woody, Sr. She worked at Bell South for several years and then spent a majority of her career as an underwriter in the insurance field. After being retired for several years, she went back to work part-time at Costco's in Duluth, GA until the age of 80. Dorothy was very proud of her family and loved them all dearly. She would always host family holiday gatherings, living by the motto, "the more the merrier". She had a passion for gardening; there was nothing she could not grow. She was also a cancer survivor of 15 years and was an avid reader until her macular degeneration took her eye sight in 2007. She then enjoyed books on tape for the last 7 years of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Donaldson Grier Woody, Sr.; sons, Ronald Bailey and Richard Zimmerman; son-in-law, Charles Richard Phillips; grandson, Brian Scott Phillips; and sister, Doris Kraft. She is survived by her three daughters, Roxie Phillips of Alpharetta, GA, Candy (Don) Walker of Texarkana, TX and Grace (Kim) Baker of Suwanee, GA; three sons, Clinton Woody of Dallas, GA, Doyle "Skippy" (Debbie) Woody of Orlando, FL and Donaldson Grier (Janice) Woody, Jr. of Sanford, FL; and two daughter-in-laws, Libby Bailey of Monroe, GA and Lina Zimmerman of Bronx, NY. She is also survived by her 20 grandchildren, Rhonda (Jeff), Kevin (Eva), Shayne (Vanessa), Danielle (Ryan), Tinamarie (Mike), Dawn, Skipper (Heidi), Tina (Michael), Jackie (Ed), Christopher (Kimberly), Michael, Lynn, Drew (Batinna), Edwin (Jessica), Michelle (Brian), William, Malaika, Jodiceson, Taivyn and Cuaidman; and 19 wonderful greatgrandchildren, Miranda, Trevor, Kaitlyn, Ethan, Brielle, David, Matteo, Olivia, Chloe, Austin, Spencer, Tyler, Katlyn, Hannah, Hayden, Philip, Elise, Abbigail and Emma.
