Emma HEITZMAN Obituary
HEITZMAN, Emma EMMA MARGUERITE HEITZMAN "MARGE" Emma Marguerite "Marge" Loebig Heitzman died at Newnan Health & Rehabilitation surrounded by her loving family on July 3, 2014 due to health issues of aging. She was 98 years old. She was born on June 5, 1916 to Loretta and Matthew Loebig in Beaver Falls, PA. She and her late husband Vince moved to Atlanta in 1939 and she was a life-long resident of the Buckhead area. She and Vince were founding parishoners of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church after spending several years at The Cathedral of Christ the King. Marge later became a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church until her health limited her attendance. Marge was dedicated to raising her family and their activities, and enjoyed spending time with her friends. A group of Christ the King ladies met once a month for lunch at each other's homes for many years and formed their own circle of "Sisters in Christ": Gertrude Boswell, Pauline Ray, Alexasina Stephens, Virginia Irvin, Maxine Brown, Nita Sutter and Harriet Buck. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and John Miller of CA; daughters, Rita Rhino and Martha Jean Heitzman; grandchildren, Christy, Rob and Kelly Rhino; and son-in-law, Bill Harrison. She is survived by her son, Chuck Heitzman of Calhoun, GA; daughter, Virginia Harrison of Atlanta; granddaughters, Jean Marie Harrison (Bob Geer) of Atlanta and Cordele, GA, Jennifer Cardin (Brian) of Woodstock, GA; great grandson, Joshua Cardin; and niece, Pat Gray (Roy) of Sonoma, CA. The family wishes to thank all of the staff of Newnan Health & Rehabilitation, where she has resided for the last 8 years, for their loving and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home, 760 Pollard Blvd, SW, Atlanta, GA 30315. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 2 o'clock with the family receiving friends beginning at 1 o'clock at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd, NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
