FITZPATRICK, Jr., James Mr. James C. (Jimmy) Fitzpatrick, Jr. age 97, a resident of St. George Village in Roswell, GA died July 25, 2014. Mr. Fitzpatrick was born in Bessemer, AL on October 13, 1916. He was a decorated Bomber Pilot in WWII, was a photographer for the Birmingham News and the Atlanta Journal and Constitution and a long time employee of Williams Printing Company. He was a long time parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Decatur, Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Sandy Springs a was presently a member of St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Roswell. Mr. Fitzpatrick was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Verna Fitzpatrick and is survived by his four children, Tom Fitzpatrick; Jim Fitzpatrick and wife Bonnie; Peggy Douglas and husband Don and Steve Fitzpatrick and wife Belinda. Also surviving are grandchildren, Tiffany Googe and husband Derek; Cyndi Godwin and husband Denny; Lunaru Mott; Malia Douglas; Cailen Douglas and Christopher Fitzpatrick; great grandchildren John Kantor; Ashton Godwin; Dowell Kantor; Triston Godwin; Carson Godwin and Archer Googe and a cousin Gladys Tetley. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. Inurnment will be in Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs, GA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for the Visually Impaired, 739 W. Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta, GA 30308.
