Obituary Condolences

PULLIAM, Rafael (RAY) Lewis Rafael (RAY) Lewis Pulliam of Saint Simons Island, Georgia passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, July 31, 2014. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Wesley United Methodist Church on Saint Simons Island with Reverend Steve Patton officiating. Ray was born November 18, 1933 in Dewey Rose, Georgia to the late Omer T. Pulliam and Bernice O. Sladek. He was a member of Armed Forces of the US from 1953-1955 and later graduated from Georgia State University with a BA degree. He spent the next 25 years as a Tax Manager for the Coca Cola Company in Atlanta, Georgia until 1992, when he retired and eventually moved to the Golden Isles. He has been a resident of Saint Simons Island for the past ten years. Ray was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church on Saint Simons Island. He enjoyed tennis and played on both the ALTA and USTA Tennis Leagues in Atlanta. Mr. Pulliam also enjoyed an occasional game of golf and was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pulliam was preceded in death by his brothers Rudy V. Pulliam, Milton Pulliam, and Douglas Pulliam. Survivors include his wife, Linda Morgan Pulliam; son, Randy L. Pulliam and wife, Debbie; daughter, Kimberly Ann Muraczewski and husband, Matt; stepchildren, Rebecca Lynne Jones and Paul Emerson Jones and wife Kimberly Jones; grandchildren, Christopher S. Pulliam (Daniella), Matthew T. Pulliam, Kayla Muraczewski, Tyler Muraczewski, Lindsey M. Vick (Chris); great grandchildren, Jackson Pulliam, Elliot Claire Vick, Callie Jane Vick, and Walter Vick; daughter-in-law, Linda H. Pulliam; brother-in-law, Douglas M. Morgan (Helen) and his precious pet Corgi, Clooney. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Mary Edge, RN, and Margaret Armstrong, CNA, for the professionalism, compassion and the care they showed Mr. Pulliam during his illness, and they request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynn Parkway, Brunswick 31525.
