Philip COX Obituary
COX, Philip Philip K. Cox passed away on August 1, 2014 at his residence. A celebration of Phil's life will be on Wednesday August 6th at 1pm at Peachtree Presbyterian Church Kellet Chapel. A reception will follow the service at the church. Born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Phil spent over seventy five years of his life in Atlanta making him a true Atlanta native. Phil was a graduate of the Business School of Georgia State University. He was the son of Paul E. and Enner H. Cox. Phil was a loving spouse, father, grandfather and uncle dedicated to his family, his friends and his church, Peachtree Presbyterian, where he served as an Elder and an Usher for over 36 years. Phil was President and CEO of the successful promotional printing business, Sales Promotional Services, until his retirement 15 years ago. After retirement, Phil served as the church concierge greeting visitors with his great smile. He was a friend to all the children attending the preschool that he loved dearly. He was extremely active in his family life attending all activities for his children and his grandchildren throughout the years. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years Mary G. Cox, son Chip Cox (Cathie), daughter Kim Whitley (Ernie), and grandchildren Christina and Tyler Cox and Lindsey Whitley. Donation in lieu of flowers may be made to the Emory Winship Cancer Institute 1365C Clifton Road Atlanta, Ga. 30322 or Peachtree Presbyterian Church 3434 Roswell Road Atlanta Ga. 30305. H.M.
