Mother Moore,
I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Deac. You all were such a beautiful couple and joy to see whenever I would come home to Springfield. I shall never forget his unfailing love for the Lord, you, and his time with the Atlanta Black Crackers.
I am eternally grateful that he would take the time out of his schedule to come and share his journey through the Negro Baseball League with my students. That was a bit of history that I know they, and I will cherish.
I love you dearly.

Uncle Red was/is truly an inspiration to me. Because of his legacy and impact, I feel as though I can do anything and have the courage to go after my dreams. I am proud to be his niece and will be sure to tell his story to the next generation and generations to come. He is truly a part of Black and American History. Continuing to pray for the healing of our family.

Deacon Moore was a pillar in the Scotts Crossing community. He taught all of us how to play baseball and to be gentlemen. He leaves a legacy of respect and honor that few men have achieved. May GOD embrace his family with peace.
