Family-Placed Death Notice
Col. Comly "Joe" Eagle, age 86, of Stone Mountain, entered into rest October 19, 2007. Born January 21, 1921, Col. Eagle began his military career in 1936 and served 32 years in the Army and Air Force combined before retiring as a multi decorated Colonel in 1968. After retiring he took a job as Vice President of National Data Corporation until he retired from there in 1972 at age 51. Col. Eagle was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Eagle; children, John Eagle and his wife Paulette Smolsky, Lynette Eagle, Neill Eagle and his wife Rose, and Anne Martin and her husband David; grandchildren; Sara Eagle Kjome; Devon, Alana, and Brenden Eagle and Tyler Martin. A memorial service will be held Monday, October 22, 2007 at 3:00 pm at Wages and Sons Stone Mountain. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
