Family-Placed Death Notice

GORDON, Gregory GREGORY K. GORDON Gregory K. Gordon, age 60 of Valdosta, GA died late Friday evening, April 10th, in a single vehicle accident. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on November 15, 1948 and formerly lived in Decatur and Stone Mountain, GA. He is the son of the late Samuel and Rita Dosenberg Gordon. He served seven years active duty in the United States Marine Corps. Greg then received his B.S. in Industrial Management at Georgia Institute of Technology and received his Masters of Taxation at Georgia State University. He was a private contractor before becoming a Facilities Supervisor at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Plant Operations Manager for Georgia Perimeter College and Associate Director, Physical Plant at Valdosta State University. He was an active member of the Valdosta YMCA. During his military tour in Hawaii, he married Nancy. Together, they raised two daughters, Kristine and Kira. He is survived by his daughters, Kristine L. Gordon Eriksson and husband Greg of Snellville GA, Kira L. Gordon of Stone Mountain GA and two grandchildren, Brooke Vivian Eriksson and Megan Renee Eriksson and former wife and friend Nancy Gordon. He is preceded in death by one brother, Bruce Gordon. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 3rd from 2-4 PM at Wages and Sons Funeral Home 1040 Main Street, Stone Mountain, GA 30083. A memorial service for friends and colleagues from Valdosta was held on Friday April 24th at Valdosta State University. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to LifeLine Animal Project P.O. Box 15466 Atlanta, GA 30333 or Valdosta - Lowndes County YMCA, 2424 Gornto Rd. Valdosta, GA 31602.
