GRIGGS, Patricia Patricia Faye (Duncan) Griggs "Patti Fae", of 1 Maple Trail, Sharpsburg, Ga. passed away Friday, May 15, 2009 at Newnan Piedmont Hospital. Patti Fae was born March 21, 1946 in Bartow County, and was the "baby girl" of the late Pete and Lula Crowe Duncan. Patti was happily married for 27 years to Donnie Griggs and was a nationally recognized award winning country singing artist who was inducted in 1995 into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame. Patti and her husband Donnie hold the distinction of being the first husband and wife team to be inducted into the Music Hall of Fame together. Patti Fae was a master cosmetologist and nail technician for more than 30 years, a bus driver for Clayton County schools for 18 years and presently was employed as a shift supervisor for Rite-Aid in Peachtree City. Patti was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Donnie, two sons and daughter in laws, Mike and Wyndi Henson and Todd and Angie Henson. She was the stepmother to four children, Tonya and her husband Tony Haynes, Donald Griggs, Gerry Griggs and his wife Sharon and Tammie Griggs, her adopted son and daughter in law, Edward and Tracey Spears, and eight loving grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Shirley Lowery, Eunice Keith, Mary Barbier and Juanita Cantrell, her brothers and sisters in law, J.L. and Patsy Duncan, Randy and Carolyn Duncan, Keith and Donna Duncan and Toni Duncan. She was preceded in death by her twin sons Mark and Brian Henson in 1967, her sister, Betty Duncan and brothers, Ronnie, Preacher and Charlie Duncan. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 18, 2009, from the Chapel of the Owen funeral Home with Dr. Carl Billue and Chaplain Moody officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon, Doug, Jeff, and Stan Duncan, Billy Keith, Jr., Kenny Lowery, and Herman (Bo) Pruitt. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Good Shepherd Foundation, C/O Northside Bank, P.O. Box 2976, Cartersville, Ga. 30120. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 till 9:00 P.M. Sunday. Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
