BLANKENSHIP, Henry,Jr. Henry Claude Blankenship, Jr. (aka "Junior") , Age: 86. Native of Georgia, resident of Cedar Key, FLA since the 1980s, died at 7a.m., March 10, 2010 at The Court at Decatur, Retirement Community. Served in the US Navy during WWII from 1942 til 1946. Veteran Auto Mechanic who owned and operated "Blankenship Auto Service" in Atlanta, GA for four decades. Once an avid fisherman, Mr. Blankenship more recently spent much of his retirement enjoying his Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Classic Motorcycle, and rode it regularly until he was well into his 82nd year. "Junior" enjoyed giving motorcycle rides to the local school kids around Cedar Key, and volunteered for many years at the Cedar Key Historical Society. Was preceded in death on July 3, 1988 by Frances Roberts, also of Georgia to whom he was married January of 1948. Survived by siblings Henrietta Lunsford of St. James City, FL; Mack Blankenship of Commerce, GA; George Blankenship of Sharpsburg, GA; Charles Blankenship of Tampa, FL; and Brenda Wood of Mobile, AL. Children: Rebecca Blankenship of Norcross, GA; Susan McClendon of St. George Island, FL; Claudia Blankenship of Monroe, GA; Frances Lamon of Decatur, GA; and Robert Blankenship of Snellville, GA. Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, March 17th at Crest Lawn Memorial Park, 2000 Marietta Boulevard NW,Atlanta, GA 30318, (404) 355-3380.
