Family-Placed Death Notice

ROLAND, James JAMES AARON ROLAND Mr. James Aaron Roland, age 72, of Powder Springs passed away March 13, 2010. He was born in Chester, GA on June 28, 1937. Mr. Roland was a prominent Atlanta CPA (James A. Roland CPA, LLC). He was a member of AICPA and the Georgia Society of CPA's. James was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Color Guard. He carried the American Flag in the movie "To Hell and Back". James enjoyed gardening, yard work but most of all spending special moments with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Myrtice Nobles Roland and Alvin Roland; his son Mike Roland and a sister Imogene Bailey. Surviving are his wife Margene Roland of Powder Springs; daughter and son-in-law Leslie and Robert Shipp of Powder Springs; son and daughter-in-law Doug and Teresa Roland of Acworth; daughter-in-law Lynne Roland of Douglasville; sisters and brothers-in-law Janette & Merlin Taylor of Milledgeville, Jerri & Clyde Bailey of Douglasville, Sue and Lee Rhone of Clarkedale; brother Bill Roland of Jackson; brother and sister-in-law Carl & Pam Roland of Powder Springs; grandchildren James Roland, Jessica Shipp and Andy Roland and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, March 15, 2010 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. Funeral Service for Mr. Roland will be conducted Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Jeff Daxon will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Memorial Park.
