PRICKETT, Rita RITA PRICKETT Rita Elaine Warbington Prickett went to her heavenly home on March 12, 2010 following several weeks of illness. Funeral services celebrating her Home Going will be March 20, 2010 at Christ Community A.M.E. 4154 East Ponce de Leon Avenue, Clarkston, GA at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend C.O. Adams, Eulogist assisted by others. Family and Friends are asked to meet at 5695 Grove Place Crossing SW in Lilburn, GA at 11:30 AM. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Home Gwinnett Chapel 914 Scenic Hwy, Lawrenceville 30045. 770-338-5558. Family viewing hour will take place on 3/19/10 from 6-7:00 p.m. Rita was a native Atlantan, living in Lilburn, Georgia at the time of her demise. After ten long childless years of marriage, her parents, the late Lovit S. Warbington, Sr. and Hazel D. Warbington were blessed with Rita Elaine, on May 5, 1950. In the coming years, they were blessed with her siblings - Lovit, Jr., Jaunita, Roderick, and June. Her sister, Macy preceded her in death. In 1970 she was married to the late Charles DeWitt Prickett. In 1971 Rita was blessed with her daughter Calandra Jacenta Prickett and in 1972 with her daughter Tamara Cheron Prickett. Rita was a loyal employee of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution since 1971. She was a Marketing Coordinator and had projects like the popular AJC Honor Teachers Awards and The AJC Cup Awards. Rita was a member of the AJC's 25-Year Club and was the first Black female president since its inception in 1950. She also leaves to mourn her passing, her beloved grandchildren - Cherish Amber Prickett, Jonathan D. Howell O'Neal and Kirsten Rian O'Neal. Her step-children - Otis Neal Hudson & Family, Ethel Williams & Family, Albert Prickett & Family, Sallie Prickett Booker preceded her in death, DeWitt Prickett & Family, Aaron Prickett & Family, Mary Prickett & Family, Martha Prickett & Family, Alice Prickett & Family, Phillip Prickett & Family and their Mother Ms. Ada M. Prickett preceded her in death. Aunts - Lois Warbington Grant, Betty Warbington McDaniel, Louise Rodriguez, & W. Mae Warbington. Nieces & Nephews - Vontise Banks, Gregory, Rodney (preceded her in death) & Lance Hutson, Dashia Blake, Kimberly, Dorian, Cory & Ron Crawford. Sister-in-Law - Patricia W. Warbington. Brother-in-Law - Ricky King. Adopted nephews & niece - Jerry, Antonio (Tony), Reginald (Pin) & Regina Brown. Very Special cousins - Sandra McDaniel Lowe, Delores Warbington Sawyer & Donna Warbington Riley. Special Sisters - Michelle Kickasola, Alice Roark, Lucille Craft Caslin, Terri Lindsey & Maxine Smith. Rita's very best friend, confidant, and soul mate - Mr. Taft H. Mizell.
