Family-Placed Death Notice
STRICKLAND, Charles Charles L. Strickland, age 64, of Marietta, GA passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Charles was born in Guntersville, AL, but spent most of his childhood years in Sylacauga, AL. Charles was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity while attending Auburn University, graduating with a BS in Industrial Engineering in 1968. After doing so, he and his wife moved to Natchez, MS where he was employed by International Paper Company. In 1981 Charles and family moved to Marietta, GA. Charles was employed as an Industries Specialist with SKF Industries until present. One of Charles' great interests was returning to Natchez every year for the Great Mississippi Hot Air Balloon Race with old friends. For those who knew him, Charles was a man of few words but of a very large heart. He will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, a lifelong friend of many, as well as a respected peer throughout his industry. Charles is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gwyn Barnard Strickland; daughters, Caprice Strickland Page & husband Chip, Cathryn Strickland Neasham & husband Derek; sister, Nancy Strickland Creel; 4 grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Chase, Sela and Will; niece, Connie Creel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Silas and Faye Strickland of Guntersville/Sylacauga, AL.
