ROGERS, Patricia PATRICIA DeVOE ROGERS Patricia DeVoe Rogers of Atlanta, Georgia died Monday, April 26, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents Hazel von Stark DeVoe and Maxwell DeVoe. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, she was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with degrees in Psychology and English. At university she was president of the Delta Delta Delta, a member of the Mortar Board, recipient of the Torchbearer Award for Leadership and Scholarship, a member of the Womenís Swimming Team and runner-up for the regional Olympic Trials. Following graduation she was hired as one of the first women buyers for Richís Department Store. In 1962 she married C.B. Rogers III of Atlanta. Pat was actively involved in the Atlanta Junior League, a board member of the Atlanta Speech School, The Carlyle Frazer Cerebral Palsy Center and the Visiting Nurses Association. She served as chairman of the Fulton County March of Dimes, was a founder of the All Saintís Womenísí Exchange, a member of the Grand Jurorís association and of the North West Council of the Girl Scouts. She is survived by her husband, her mother-in-law Doris Lockerman; sisters, Audrey Parrish and Selinda Barker; daughter, Lyn Rogers Knapp and son-in-law Halsey G. Knapp, Jr.; sons Bruce Lockerman Rogers and daughter-in-law Laura Hartt, and Brian DeVoe Rogers and daughter-in-law Elisabeth Ayers Rogers. Pat was a devoted grandmother to her six grandchildren, Evelyn Arden Knapp, Halsey G. Knapp, III, Alexander DeVoe Rogers, Maxwell Ayers Rogers, Noah Logan Rogers and Aidan Patrick Hartt Rogers. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 6th, 2010, at 2:00pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 3003 Howell Mill Road. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Lake Rabun Scholarship Foundation c/o Buz Stone at 2986 Nancy Creek Drive, Atlanta, Ga. 30327.
