Family-Placed Death Notice

Mr. Henry R. (Rusty) Seawell, Jr., a native of Montgomery, Alabama, and a resident of Stockton, AL, died at his home on Sunday, July 17, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Merrily Gayle Seawell, his children Leonard H. Seawell of Atlanta, GA, Henry R. Seawell III of Mobile, AL, Louise S. Brummett of Fairhope, AL, Rev. Robert H. Seawell of Daphne, AL, Gayle S. Edwards of Elberta, AL, Robert E. Steiner of Auburn, AL, John E. Steiner of Montgomery, AL and Thomas K. Steiner of Spanish Fort, AL. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Auburn University, a decorated veteran of World War II serving as a forward observer in the 3rd Army as an officer under General George S. Patton. He co-founded Irby Seawell & Company, Southeastern Aviation Underwriters, and was a member of Immanuel Episcopal Church in Bay Minette, AL. Pallbearers will be Charles H. Seawell II, William Haynes, Norman Gayle Jr., Michael Avery, Wiley Poundstone Jr., Wesley Dunn and Fred Garth. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at 2 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Montgomery. The family will be receiving in the Parish Hall from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Episcopal Church in Bay Minette on Saturday, July 23rd at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Immanuel Episcopal Church, 700 McMillian Ave., Bay Minette, AL, 36507 or Episcopal Church of the Apostles, P.O.
