ALLISON, Ronald Ronald Dean Allison, 67, of Senoia, GA passed away on June 22, 2011. He as born in Ashville, NC and was a retired Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served over 30 years. He began his Air Traffic Control (ATC) Career at Randolph Air Force Base (AFB) TX Ground Controlled Approach (GCA) in 1964. He was later assigned ATC duties at numerous locations including Berlin Germany, Pope AFB NC, Republic of Korea, and Robins AFB GA. He served in many leadership positions in Control Towers and Radar Facilities, including Senior Controller, Watch Supervisor, and Chief Controller. He served as Senior Enlisted Advisor (now Command CMSgt) to the Commander, Pacific Communications Division, Hickam AFB HI, Commander Space Communications Division, Peterson AFB CO, and Commander Air Force Communications Command, Scott AFB IL. He also served as the ATC Liaison/Advisor to the Commander, Air Force Reserves, Commandant of the Air Force Communications Command NCO Academy and Leadership School, Keesler AFB MS, and Special Assistant to the Commander Arnold AFS TN. After the military, in 1994, he worked for the Department of Defense (DOD) as Transition Counselor until 2002 and then worked for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as Airspace Evaluator, for the states of KY and TN, until retiring Dec. 2010. He was a loving Christian man who loved Southern Gospel Music, and whose pastime was attending concerts to hear the "Word". He lived his life to its' fullest, traveling the world and experiencing different cultures. He loved hunting and attending NASCAR races. As a member of the Harmony Church of the Nazarene, he was truly blessed. He was a very loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius (CA) Alexander and Mary Evelyn Allison, his son Richard Allison (partner Dan), and daughter Marisa White. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Allison and four children, Ronald "Scoot" Allison II (Myong,), Clark Allison, Kelcey Allison (Marianne), and Rustin Allison; grandchildren, Nana and Ronnie Allison, Olivia and Christian Allison, Brennan Allison, and Tyler White; sisters and brothers, Joyce Bell, Lloyd Allison (Karen), Larry Allison, Elaine Caldwell (Chris), Hugh Allison (Faye), and Janice Bell (Harold); nieces and nephews, and Brasilian exchange student, Flavia Jacoby Terhaag (Cris) and Lara who had become a special part of his family. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2011, at 2:00 PM at the Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City, with Rev. Gene Wiseman officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place on Tuesday June 28 at 1:30 PM at the East Tennessee State Cemetery, in Knoxville, TN with full military honors.
