Family-Placed Death Notice

HAGUE, Nancy Dr. Nancy Rogers Hague, Associate Professor of Psychology at Georgia Highlands College, died Friday, February 17, 2012 of ovarian cancer. She spent her final weeks at Hospice Atlanta surrounded by her immediate and extended family. Nancy was born in DeLand, Florida on January 24, 1957 to Dr. John Hague and Ruth Janet Rogers Hague. She graduated from Stetson University majoring in Psychology in 1978. In addition to her teaching duties at GHC, Nancy led the Phi Theta Kappa chapter, helping it to become one of the top 25 chapters worldwide. At the time of her death she was serving on the statewide Psych Advisory Committee. For several years, Nancy led students, faculty, and staff as the Captain of the GHC Team. Thanks in large part to her efforts, GHC has raised thousands of dollars for cancer research. Nancy was a passionate, committed teacher who mentored and advised countless students and colleagues. A wonderful listener, she was a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her. Nancy is survived by her mother Janet Hague, her brother David Nelson Hague of DeLand, Florida her sister and brother-in-law Carolyn Hague and Michael Pinkerton of Vienna, Austria, her brother-in-law Terrence White of Ormond Beach, nephew Peter White of Daytona Beach, and niece Kaitlin White of Gainesville, Florida. She is preceded in death by her father John Hague and her sister Sarah Hague White. The family would like to express deep thanks to Nancy's extended family for their amazing support throughout her illness: Joe Gallagher and Michael McDaniel, Bob Harbort, John Ruch and Charlie Tighe, Connie Smith, Dr. Jim Foulks of Atlanta, GA and Sharryse Henderson of Cartersville, GA.
