Shirley SUMPTER Obituary
Family-Placed Death Notice
SUMPTER, Shirley Shirley Jo Sumpter of Duluth passed away March 31, 2012. She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara J. Sumpter; father and stepmother, Joseph and Doris Sumpter. She is survived by her sister, Yvette Chandler (Allan) of Cumming; nephews, Jason Thelen (Monika), RJ Thelen, both of Alpharetta and Nicholas Chandler of Cumming and uncles, aunts and cousins. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. graveside at Arlington Memorial Park.

We mourne the loss of Shirley but celebrate her life. And we have such sweet memories of our cousin from Georgia, the girl who liked to go to every Six Flags and amusement park that was in the area she was visiting. We had great times at those family reunions in Floyd and stuffed ourselves silly with the all the good food our aunts had been cooking for days. But not too stuffed that we couldn't walk down to the burger joint and get some ice cream. Sweet memories. And how she loved her niece and nephews. She was a great, great aunt - kind, loving, and caring. Rest now Shirley, your soul has gone to be with all your parents but your heart forever remains with us. Much love, Cousin Lois Sumpter
