Family-Placed Death Notice

LEAKE, Coralee Mrs. Coralee Ann Blanchard Leake of Union City passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012. She was born in Adrian, MI on July 30, 1929 to Floyd and Dorothy Blanchard. Her intense interest in aviation led her to get her pilot's license as a teen, where she met her future husband, Al Leake. Coralee and Al served in the Civil Air Patrol in both Michigan and Georgia. They moved to College Park, GA in 1955 when Al joined Eastern Air Lines. Coralee spent many years at Christian City Convalescent Center volunteering, working as an Assistant Activities Director and retiring after nearly 20 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Leake; son, Thomas Alden Leake; sister, Elsbeth Blanchard and is survived by her daughters, Vicki Beck and husband, Felix of Baxley; Lauri Newsome and husband, Kenny of Sharpsburg; Amy Lopez and husband, Jose of Woodstock; sister, Aldeen Schultz of Dearborn Heights, MI; grandchildren, Jason Beck, Jeremy Beck, Jon and Claudia Beck, Steven and Tabitha McKown, Missy and David White, Alex Lopez, Nick Lopez; great grandchildren, Cailen, Kirsten, and Kylie McKown; Cameron, Becca, and Brooke White; nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 4, 2012 at 3 o'clock at Christian City Welcome Center Chapel with Pastor Stephen Carpenter and Pastor Paul Carrier officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park. The family is accepting flowers or donations to the following: Christian City Children's Home, 7345 Red Oak Rd., Union City, GA 30291 or Jesus' Place, P.O.
