ROANE, Jourdan JOURDAN ARCHIBALD (JACK) ROANE, M.D. Jourdan Archibald (Jack) Roane, M.D., 80, of Memphis, died at his home Sunday, May 13. He was born in Iuka, Mississippi, on November 4, 1931, to Lucy Brown Jourdan and John Archibald Roane. After graduating from Iuka High School, he attended Vanderbilt University, where he received his BS and MD degrees, and was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He served as a Major in the United States Air Force. He attended the University of Oklahoma, where he was Chief Resident in Pediatrics. He attended the University of Tennessee, and received a Fellowship to study Allergy and Immunology under Dr. Lloyd V. Crawford. He was a founding member of the Tennessee Society of Allergy and Immunology, President of Memphis Mid-South Pediatric Society, President of Tennessee Society of Allergy and Immunology, member of Memphis Medical Society, member of Mid-South Allergy Forum, Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, the Memphis Rotary, and the Memphis Country Club. He was married to Anne Davis (Peaches) Roane for 58 years. He was the father of Regina Roane Hennessy (Stephen R.) of Atlanta, and Mary Roane Jenkins (Mark N.), and the grandfather of William Andrew Hennessy and Anne Roane Hennessy and John Davis Jenkins and James Campbell Jenkins. He was preceded in death by his brother, W. Talmage Roane. The family wishes to especially thank Virgie Jackson, whose loving kindness and faith have been a great strength. Visitation will be 1:00 pm Thursday, May 17, 2012 in the Salmon Room of Second Presbyterian Church Memphis, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm in the Chapel. Burial will be in Owensboro, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The Caring Department of Second Presbyterian Church, or Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
