Family-Placed Death Notice

WOODS, David Lee David Lee Woods, age 81, of Mableton passed away on November 21, 2012. An Army Veteran (82nd Airborne) of the Korean Conflict, he retired from Georgia Power/Southern Company in 1989 after 34 years of service. A member of Southern Company Ambassadors, Gideon International, and the First Christian Church of Mableton, he taught Bible studies for Cobb Street Ministries. Survivors include wife, Geneva Thomason Woods; daughter, Julie and her husband Charles Byers of Mableton and Linda Marie McDaniel of Phoenix City, AL; granddaughter, Morgan Byers; brothers, Melvin Woods of Big Rapids, MI and Ted Woods of Lansing, MI; sisters, Dora Lewis of Lansing, MI, Alma Myers of Grand Rapids, MI, and Maxine and her husband William Hoffman of Mason, MI; sister in law, Beatrice Thomason of Elberton; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 4:00pm-6:00pm today and Sunday from noon until service time at 2:00pm at White Columns Funeral Chapel in Mableton with Preacher Richard Vartenesian officiating.
