Family-Placed Death Notice

CARSON, Alison Dr. Alison Antonia Graci Carson passed away peacefully at her home on the evening of December 9, 2012. Alison was born January 24, 1963 in Akron, OH. Later moving to Georgia, at age 9, she began her love of competitive running. She continued competing through high school, junior Olympics and ultimately the University of Georgia, where she was a shining elite competitor. While at UGA, Alison began her studies in psychology and education. She later received her Masters and a specialist in education degrees from Georgia State University. Alison's crowning jewel was most recently receiving her Doctorate of education from Columbia University in 2011. Alison spent her professional career as a professor, passing on her knowledge to the up and coming students, then later as a BCBA-D where she assisted and advocated for special needs patients, a career she accomplished with love, tenacity and attention for doing what was best for her patients. Her personal life was complete when she married Scott, her "Person", a love from many years ago that she reconnected with, and who had always held a special place in her heart. With the addition of Bleu, their rescued blue tick hound, they settled into their home in Atlanta. Alison became ill a year and a half later and fought her disease with courage, bravery and with the utmost dignity. She is survived by her beloved friend and husband, Scott Atkinson; her mother, Marilyn Bohling; her uncle, Ernie Chudick; her aunt, Pat Bandy; her cousin, Michael Chudick; and of course her beloved, "Bleu" as well as many hearts she touched over her life.
