Family-Placed Death Notice
LANG, Kent Reverend Kent Lang, 79, of Marietta, GA passed away December 13, 2012. He was born to the late Douglas and Margaret (Willman) Lang on February 8, 1933 in Chicago, IL. He earned his bachelor's degree from Capital University in Columbus, OH and was ordained at Trinity Lutheran Seminary on August 3, 1958. He will be remembered for inspiring and serving many congregations of the ELCA and for his outstanding moral and spiritual leadership throughout the communities he lived in. A faithful and loving husband and father, Kent always put family first. He had an unshakable faith in God and was a true servant of the Lord. He loved to read and absorb new knowledge which fueled his unending desire to teach. Kent was a sportsman, a faithful fan to the Chicago teams, and loved to garden. Kent was preceded in death by his parents and son, Scot Lang. He is survived by his wife Ruth Lang, sons, David Lang and Kent Lang (Toni), daughters, Kandis Lang and Pam Nichols (Danny), daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Lang, 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brothers, Mac Lang and Douglas Lang and sister, Gwen Leitgen. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012 at 10:00am at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection 4814 Papermill Road, Marietta, GA 30067. The family will receive friends during a reception after the service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Kent to the Kent Lang endowment fund for future seminarians c/o Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. Arrangements entrusted to H.M.
