Family-Placed Death Notice
LINDQUIST, Robert LINDQUIST -- Robert Lee "Bud" Lindquist, 76, of Lake Arrowhead, Waleska, formerly of College Park and Lawrenceville, died Thursday, December 13. Bud was born on July 18, 1936 in Des Moines, Iowa to Red and Marie Lindquist. He attended the public schools of Marshalltown and Des Moines, Iowa. After serving in the United States Army in Panama, he returned to Des Moines and married Margaret Aduddell Lindquist in 1959. The Lindquist family grew to include two daughters, Jeanne Ann and Patrice, and in 1969 they moved to College Park. Bud worked in the Atlanta area as a sales representative for manufacturers in the building industry. Bud later formed and owned Affordable Roofing and Guttering, the business from which he retired. He was a Mason and member of both the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine Temple in Des Moines and the Yaarab Shrine Temple in Atlanta and served as President of the Yaarab Red Devil Clown Unit. After moving to Lake Arrowhead, he and Margaret became active members of that community. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and a loyal friend to many. Bud was predeceased by his wife Margaret and his daughter Patrice. He is survived by his daughter Jeanne Lindquist Kutrow of Charlotte, NC and her husband Brad, and grandsons Reid and Robert Kutrow, both now students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the Lake Arrowhead Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Donations may be made in Bud's memory to the Shriners' Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL designated for Burn Care and as a Bud Lindquist memorial. Interment will be at a later date at the Memorial Garden, Christ Episcopal Church, Charlotte, NC. Medford-Peden Funeral Home in Marietta is in charge of arrangements.
