Family-Placed Death Notice

MELTZ, Linda Linda Griffin Meltz, 69, of Atlanta departed this life on Tuesday, the 1st of January 2013, with the expectation of joining those loved ones gone before to God's Promised Land. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Meltz, Sr., father, Marvin Griffin, and brother, Bud Griffin. Surviving are her mother, Estelle Garner Griffin; brother, Ray Griffin; sisters, Jenny Griffin Lester, Elaine Griffin Barton, Sherry Griffin Holloman; nieces and nephews, Mike, Keith, Anita, Hobson, Mary Garner, Lizzie, Madeline, Natalie, Walt, Melanie, Sally, Lauren, David, Mandy, and Doug their spouses and their 33 children. I LOVE you all! Linda received her education from Felton School, Cedartown High School, Auburn University, and on the great golf course of life. She served as Director Emeritus of Georgia State Golf Association, President of Dunwoody Country Club Women's Golf Association, the Atlanta Women's Golf Association, and the Georgia Women's Golf Association and served on the United States Golf Association Women's Regional Affairs Committee. She was honored as an Honorary Life Member in both the Atlanta Women's Golf Association and the Georgia Women's Golf Association. Memorial services will be conducted on Thursday the 3rd of January at two o'clock at Patterson's Arlington Chapel. It was Linda's wish that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be directed to the United Methodist Children's Home, 500 South Columbia Drive, Decatur, GA 30030. Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family Thursday afternoon from one o'clock until the hour of service at H. M. Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd., NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
