Family-Placed Death Notice

WORLEY , William William Lloyd Worley (Bill), 62, of Alpharetta passed away from pancreatic cancer on Friday, December 28, 2012 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born November 21, 1950, to Lucas Malcolm Worley and Ruby Hazel Worley in Tampa, FL. Bill grew up in Alpharetta, Ga., and graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering. He married Julie Briggs on March 15, 1980. Together they had three daughters and enjoyed thirty-two years of marriage. He was a longtime employee of Sun Microsystems and most recently of MB&R Engineering. Bill was a ham radio enthusiast and used his grandfather's call sign, W4CUX. He was also an avid outdoorsmen and hiked the complete Georgia section of the Appalachian Trail, among others. He was a member of the River Bend Gun Club where he participated in archery, black powder, and trap. He is survived by his wife, Julie, and three daughters, Frances and Virginia of Alpharetta, Katherine Dean and her husband, Zachary Dean of Athens; mother, Ruby Worley of Roswell; sisters, Katherine Coleman and her husband William Coleman of Alpharetta, Jane Rumple and her husband, Thomas Rumple of Marietta; sisters-in-laws, Susan Bradley and her husband, Steven Bradley of Maui, HI, Jaimie DeLoach and her husband Jon DeLoach, of Columbus; granddaughter, Julie Ross of Alpharetta; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial service Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Rogers' Farm, 10655 Rogers Circle, Johns Creek, GA 30097 to honor Bill (casual dress).
