Family-Placed Death Notice

OTT, Jr., David DAVID LOUIS OTT, JR. David Louis Ott, Jr., age 22, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2013. David graduated from Pace Academy, where he played on the baseball and wrestling teams. He was a senior at Ole Miss, where he pledged Sigma Alpha Epsilon. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing, golf, and especially hunting. He loved the family farm, Lakefield Plantation, in Rutledge and treasured the many hours spent there on weekends throughout his life, particularly with his dad. His life blessed hundreds and hundreds of friends in Atlanta and Oxford with his loving and pure spirit. He is survived by his parents, David, Sr. and Susan Whitmire Ott. He also leaves siblings, Jacque Bartlett (Joe), John and Joanna; Elizabeth Sweeney (Brad) and Mary Beth; Caroline Ott; Emily Ott; his grandparents, Pat Ott, deceased grandfather Bob Ott, and Whit and Linda Whitmire, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his beloved Emmie Downs. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 20, at H. M. Patterson & Son, Spring Hill from 4 until 7 pm. Services will be held Thursday, February 21, at 1:00 pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 731 Peachtree Street Atlanta, GA 30308, where he was a lifelong member. There will be a reception at the church from 11:30 am until the hour of the service. Pall bearers are Eric Buonanotte, Nick Crocker, Daniel Fortner, Duke Jones, Bob Steinbruegge, Mac Van Gorder, and Taylor Whitmire. Honorary pall bearer Robbie Whitmire. Posthumous pall bearer Zack Elliott. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. Memorials in his honor are appreciated for American Wilderness Leadership School, 9400 Mac Leod Rd.
