SPENCER, Taronda TARONDA ELISE SPENCER Ms. Taronda Elise Spencer, archivist and historian for Spelman College, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013, of cardiac arrest at Grady Memorial Hospital . A New Orleans, LA native, Taronda was born on September 25, 1958 to the parentage of Mr. Albert Spencer, Jr. and Mrs. Emanuella Julien Spencer. She was a graduate of John McDonogh #35 Senior High School and later pursued a bachelor's degree from Spelman College and her master's degree from the University of New Orleans. Taronda was a member of Pilgrim Progress Baptist Church of New Orleans, LA and sang in the choir. After relocating to Atlanta, she became a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, where she also sang in the choir. Taronda is survived by her mother, Mrs. Emanuella Julien Spencer; three brothers, Rodney (Sandra) Spencer; Royzell (Ivelynn) Spencer; and Russell J. Spencer. Three aunts, Ms. Bessie Bradley, Ms. Angelena Lewis, and Ms. Lucy Julien; an uncle, Mr. Wilson (Audrey) Julien; a godchild, Megan Bright; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
