Family-Placed Death Notice
MASLANKA, Richard Richard L. Maslanka, age 74, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 15, 2013 at Embracing Hospice in Snellville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Dorothy Riggin Maslanka, and his mother, Mary Maslanka. He is survived by two daughters, Pat Andrews and her husband, David, and Samantha Nevils-Chastain; two granddaughters, Samantha Nevils and Jozette Nevils; one grandson, David Carlisle; one great-granddaughter, Chloe Turpin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Reva & Cecil Thomas; sister-in-law, Patsy Heaton, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends. The Funeral Mass Honoring the Life of Richard Maslanka will be held Thursday, July 18, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 2:30 P.M. at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA with Full Military Honors by the United States Air Force. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Embracing Hospice Foundation, 5775 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd., Ste. D580, Atlanta, GA 30342 or Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, RM 1509, New York, NY 10018-7102 in memory of Richard L. Maslanka.
