Family-Placed Death Notice

BILLIE I DALE Billie I Dale, 89 of Atlanta died Sunday February 5, 2006 in a local assisted living home. Billie Margaret Ingram was born in Louden, TN, August 29, 1916 at her parent's home. She grew up in several East Tennessee communities, which included Louden, Oneida, Johnson City, Kingston, and Knoxville; as well as Somerset, KY. She attended Knoxville High School and after graduation, attended Draughan Business College. She married Robert Merritt Dale and moved to Atlanta in August, 1938. They first lived on Arizona Avenue, and later moved to an apartment house on McLendon Avenue in Little Five Points. They moved to their new house on Leonardo Avenue in June, 1941 where she lived until 2002 when she moved in with her son, Russell Edward, and his wife Donna at their home in Marietta. She went to work at Druid Hills Baptist Church, a church she truly loved on October 1, 1951. She remained with the church for 32 years retiring as the Financial Secretary. She has three grandchildren, Doug (Carolyn) Dale, Kim (John) McSwain, and Boyd (Wendy) Baker; seven great-grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas, Sabrina, and Robert Dale, Lea McSwain, and Deacon and Keely Baker. A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 12, 2006 at 3:00 PM at Druid Hills Baptist Church, 1085 Ponce de Leon Avenue, Atlanta 30306. Her cremated remains will be interred at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Knoxville, TN at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her beloved church. H.M.
