She graduated from The University of Georgia in 1942, with a degree in English, and was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. One of the first women employed by the U.S. Weather Bureau, she was a weather observer and RAYOB operator during WWII. She was a Christian mother with strong family values, and a loving heart. Martha dearly loved her church, family, and friends . She was predeceased by her first husband of 38 years, William Lowe, in 1982, and by her second love of 16 years, Brig. General (Retired) Alvin S. Sanders, in 2004. After Alvin's passing, she made sure that her beach house was given to the step children, in tribute to their mother. Martha is survived by her sister, Bess Conley of Tallahassee, FL; two daughters: Martha Hall (Richard) of Rico, GA, and Carole Boline (Duane) of Overland Park, KS; two grandchildren: William Wallace of Houston, TX, Patricia Hernandez (Chas) of Olathe, KS, and one great-grandson, Jace Hernandez, a niece and three nephews.
